ENTREPRENEURIAL STARS! At-Risk After School Program

The purpose of this program is to reduce the rate of Middle & High school dropout among students in Fulton County, Georgia by at least 20% thru a youth mentorship and after school assistance program. Beauty & Barbers Stars At-Risk After School Program conceived with the notion of bridging the gap between education and entertainment. We offer students, ages 11-18 opportunities to learn leadership skills by partaking in apprenticeship initiatives in the arts. Many of our students are urban/at-risk youth studying Entrepreneurship, Vocal Music, Drawing & Painting, Fashion Design & Modeling and Health & Beauty taught by community volunteers. This program is geared to enhance the self-esteem, help create positive thinking and positive attitudes. We help build self-confidence by focusing on helping students to feel good about themselves and their future. We have guest speakers come in for lecturers. Between the hours of 3-7 pm after-school (Mon-Fri) this is an outlet to get them off the streets after school so they can be in a positive atmosphere and continue to focus on their future and create opportunities for themselves. Four (4) hours per day it also provides an opportunity for parents to continue to work during these hours and know that their children are in a safe and positive environment. This program will work with low- income at-risk young adults who are under deserved, under privileged and disadvantaged. We will also provide snacks and meals during our program time.

We strive to join forces with other organizations to help feed & empower our program youth (up to age 18) ensuring that as many poverty stricken youth are fed healthy, nutritious breakfast and lunch’s throughout the program time.  Our food program works in conduction with our After - School Program.
