ABOUT THE YOUTH SUMMER INITIATIVE CAMP:
Come join us for an exciting summer. We have four different occupations. Beauty, performing arts, audio operators and construction, for ages 12-18 to learn skills that will prepare you for regular apprenticeship! This in-person/virtual after-school program is designed to provide a platform for budding artists to shine on stage and discover their inner star power.
During this after-school program, participants will have the opportunity to attend workshops and masterclasses led by industry experts. Our experienced instructors will guide and inspire participants to unlock their potential and develop their talents. We have guest speakers that visits us and teaches the latest tricks for trades.
Participants will get a through introduction to the desired trade of your choice. This is an amazing opportunity for young ones who are inquiring about one day pursuing performing arts, beauty, audio engineering or construction. Students come together for some tutoring, peer discussions on entrepreneurship, professional development and more as they explore the world of trades. Our experts will share tips and tricks on the trades, and how so much more! Participants will leave with newfound confidence, knowledge and learning material to pursue these amazing career pathways. These programs also prepare you for our apprenticeship programs, entrepreneurship and personal development.

*The objective of this program is to introduce the youth to performing arts and beauty so that they may be inspired to pursue the careers whether it be to help parents around the house, help pay for college or start your own business. We want you to know that this is just the beginning, and YOU CAN DO IT!! We prepare our youth for apprenticeship programs.
FAQS – High School Pilot Program
**All incoming students must attend an orientation which will be held on the 1st day of class. During orientation the student will learn about responsibilities and standards, the format of the program, the progression of the program, and how performance will be measured.
Can I get financial aid to attend the In-School Pre apprenticeship Program?
We have funding available for those who qualify. As part of your onboarding process, you will be scheduled to meet with our financial navigator to learn more about what aid is available to you. Aid may be available for various costs like tuition, fees, kits, supplies, food, housing, and transportation to and from your supplemental instruction classroom. It’s our quest to eliminate any barriers to entry within our programs. We want to ensure our programs are available to everyone, regardless of financial or societal upbringing.
When do classes start?
Classes start the January, April and August. 3-month modules.
Requirements for enrolling in Black Girl Beauty School of Careers:
Students must be between the ages of 12-18.
Students must be middle/high school.
Students must provide a copy of Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, and Driver’s License.
Student's Must Complete Interest Form
Enrollment Fee of $285 Due at time of enrollment.
Student's Must Complete Application
